General Course Requirements: 6 credit hours of ENGR 7000 plus 15 credit hours of 6000 level and 9 credit hours of 4000 level or 6000 level (total of 8 courses) 3 credit hours of ENME 60951 plus 15 additional credit hours of 6000 level and 15 credit hours of 4000 or 6000 level (total of 11 courses)
Mechanical Engineering Course Reguirements: Minimum of 18 credit hours of Mechanical Engineering (ENME Courses)2, 3 Minimum of 24 credit hours of Mechanical Engineering (ENME Courses)2, 3
Mathematics Requirements: 3 credit hours of MATH 6000 or 4000 level (needs approval by the major professor); ENME 6024 or 4023; PHYS 4201 or 4202

1  The individual project (ENME 6095) should be utilized to complete a project that is suitable for presentation as the Final Examination Oral.

2  ENCE 6353 - Advanced Mechanics of Materials is acceptable as an ENME Course.

3  Other electives may be chosen from CE, EE, NAME, MATH and Science. These non-ME electives must be approved by the Major Professor of the student.

To the Student: "Thesis" option students should begin work on their thesis as soon as possible. If a student is supported as a research assistant for 12 credit hours, or more, he/she must take the "Thesis" option. However, if the student has taken 24 credit hours, or more, and 18 months have passed since his/her initial enrollment, he/she may switch to the "Non-thesis" option and may change major professor if desired.
