HOW TO VIEW COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:

Each course listed below links to a brief description of the course. To view the descriptions, allow pop-ups in your browser. Then select any course to open the pop-up course description. Next, resize your main window and view both browser windows side-by-side on your computer monitor. (See illustration at right.) Continue to select courses and the content of the pop-up window will change.

Note: May not work in all browsers. Best viewed in IE version 6.

Suggested Course Scheduling Sequence**
(from the 2005-06 COE Information Bulletin)

NOTE: Every engineering course must be passed with a grade of C or better. In addition, a C grade may be required in some prerequisite courses that are taught outside the College of Engineering -- this policy is still evolving. See your advisor for complete information.

** While all courses listed must be taken to qualify for the specific degree, schedule rearrangements are certainly possible. The primary consideration is successful completion of prerequisites. Also, see the Course Numbering System page for additional information.

1 To graduate with a degree in Engineering, the student must satisfy the General Degree Requirements of the University.

2 Students who are exceptionally strong in math may take the two-semester sequence of MATH 2111 (5 cr) and MATH 2112 (5 cr) in place of the three-semester sequence MATH 2107 (3 cr), MATH 2108 (3 cr), MATH 2109 (4 cr).

NOTE: The electrical engineering curriculum is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Semester Offerings
The Department of Electrical Engineering will offer all courses either during Fall or Spring. Courses with high student demand will also be offered in the Summer. No class will be offered both in Spring and Fall, so plan accordingly. This means that if you drop a class you may have to wait a year before you are able to register for it again. No pre-requisites will be waived.

Fall Courses (18 classes total — 12 3-hr. courses, 1 1-hr. course, and 5 labs — 42 credits) 2550, 2582, 2586, 3540, 3516, 3522, 3572, 3091, 3583, 3514, 3587, 3533, 3535, 3574, 3511, elective 1, elective 2. For non-EE’s: 2500

Spring Courses (16 classes total — 12 3-hr. courses, 4 labs — 40 credits) 2551, 2510, 3530, 3547, 3543, 3517, 3582, 3512, 3560, 3521, 3092, elective 1, elective 2, elective 3. For non-EE’s: 3518, 3501

Note that the minimum number of electives is listed above; we could, of course, offer more.
